On board the Rubba
On a multi-day trip with the traditional Rubba, you will discover the unspoiled beauty of the Omani fjords – also known as “Norway of Arabia”. Huge cliffs rise from turquoise waters, small fishing villages cling to the coasts, and dolphins frequently accompany the boat.
Between rugged rocks and quiet bays, you enjoy the tranquility of the sea while the sun slowly sinks behind the mountains. This journey is an impressive escape – decelerated, close to nature, and deeply rooted in Oman’s maritime heritage.

Arrival in Dubai – Drive to the North
After your night flight – or after your stay in Dubai, you will be picked up in the morning in Dubai and drive in a car across the border into the Omani enclave of Musandam. At the harbor of the main town Khasab, you will go directly on board the Rubba, and around noon it’s time to “cast off!”
Bab Musandam, strait to the Indian Ocean
On your way to the northern tip of the Arabian Peninsula, you will reach and visit the small place Kumzar, which has its own unique language. It can only be accessed from the sea. Continuing on through the Bab Musandam strait into the Indian Ocean, you will pass by Hamra Island and stop at Khor Shisha to reach your day’s destination, Khor Shabus.
Mountain Safari at Jabal Harim (Option 1)
On the shores of the fjord Khor Najd, the SUVs are already waiting. On dusty serpentine roads, you will drive into the Jabal Harim massif, which rises over 2000 meters above sea level. See fossils of various marine creatures, abandoned mountain villages, and interesting vegetation. And stops will be made for breathtaking panoramas. By noon, you will reach Khasab. With a tasty, typical lunch, you will conclude your Musandam tour, followed by a private transfer to Dubai or Ras al Khaimah.
Mountain Safari at Jabal Harim (Option 2)
After the mountain safari, you will return on board around noon and continue your cruise southward. The next landing is scheduled at the small harbor of Limah, a place that has been reachable by land for a few years now. This is the southernmost point of your short cruise with the Rubba. Back in the fjord Khor Shabus, you will anchor for the night.
Mountain Safari at Jabal Harim
With a final swimming and snorkeling stop near the Strait of Hormuz, it’s full speed ahead back to Khasab. After a lunch on board, you will disembark again at Khasab’s harbor and continue your journey as desired.
