When is the best time to travel for a vacation with children?

The best time to travel depends largely on the age of your children, the destination, and school holidays. While warmer regions like South Africa or the Canary Islands are great for family trips during the winter months, European destinations are ideal during the Easter, summer, or autumn holidays. Those traveling with young children can also fly outside of holiday periods – with milder temperatures, less hustle and bustle, and more flexibility.

The climate also plays a role: Tropical regions should be visited during the dry season, such as Thailand from December or Namibia in the European summer. We are happy to advise you on which destinations fit the age of your children, your travel wishes, and the appropriate season.

Long-distance travel with small children – what should you pay attention to?

Long-distance travel with small children can work wonderfully – if it is well planned. The key is a child-friendly itinerary with short daily stages, enough rest periods, and suitable accommodations. Direct flights or short layover times also make starting your vacation easier.

Important considerations include things like sun protection, insect repellent, a child-friendly first aid kit, and flexible meal options on-site. Many high-quality lodges and hotels today offer family-friendly services without compromising on comfort. We will design your trip so that you can fully concentrate on experiencing it – and handle small challenges along the way with ease.

Safari with children – is that even possible?

Yes, it is – and it can be a real highlight for both children and parents. The selection of the right region and accommodation is crucial. Many private game reserves offer safari experiences specifically for families, with child-friendly drives, adapted daily routines, and guides who enjoy explaining things.

For children aged about 6 years and older, game drives are already possible, and some lodges welcome younger guests – often with special activities such as tracking, junior ranger programs, or walking safaris with experienced rangers. Safety, proximity to nature, and respect for the animals are always at the forefront. We know what matters – and will put together safaris that work for your family.
