Things to know about the Caribbean
Best Travel Time for the Caribbean
The Caribbean can generally be traveled year-round – but depending on the island and personal preference, there are differences that we will specifically consider when planning your trip.
The ideal travel time for many Caribbean islands is between December and May. In these months, you can expect sunny weather, pleasant temperatures, and little precipitation – perfect for a beach holiday, island hopping, or exclusive retreats.
The summer months (June to October) are considered the rainy season and hurricane season – but not all islands are equally affected. Grenada, St. Lucia, or Barbados are often still well accessible during this time, with short, warm showers and lush green nature.
Barbados
Barbados is an island for connoisseurs – and for travelers who appreciate diversity. Here, British heritage meets Caribbean joy of life, colonial architecture meets modern gastronomy, and white sandy beaches meet a vibrant art and music scene. The west coast lures with calm seas, stylish villas, and elegant resorts – ideal for relaxed days by the water. In the east, however, the Atlantic crashes against wild rocky coastlines, perfect for nature lovers and wave enthusiasts. Whether you want to play golf, dive, experience culture, or just soak up the sun – Barbados is stylish, accessible, and yet full of character.
St. Lucia
St. Lucia is the Caribbean for advanced travelers – green, wild, and yet surprisingly elegant. The iconic Pitons rise majestically from the sea, hidden behind them are small luxury lodges in the rainforest, hot springs, waterfalls, and cocoa plantations. The island is perfect for travelers who want to experience nature in style: while hiking, sailing, or in an open-air spa with an ocean view. St. Lucia is particularly popular with honeymooners seeking seclusion and exclusivity – but also with active couples who want more than just a beach.
Grenada
Grenada is an insider tip – it has everything that defines the Caribbean. Lush nature, golden beaches, crystal-clear water – and a relaxed, warm atmosphere that immediately welcomes you. Instead of large hotel chains, you will find charming, stylish resorts with a personal touch on Grenada. Especially exciting: the culinary side of the island. Whether nutmeg, cocoa, or local cuisine at a high level – enjoyment has many facets here. Those looking for an island that is original, versatile, and true to itself will find their own Caribbean feeling on Grenada.
ABC Islands (Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao)
South of the coast of Venezuela lie Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao – three islands that belong to the Caribbean but surprise with their own character. Thanks to their location outside the hurricane belt, they are accessible year-round. Aruba stands for long beaches and relaxed resorts, Bonaire for nature, diving, and retreat. Curaçao enchants with colorful colonial architecture, small bays, and a vibrant culture. Together, they offer the perfect mix of reliability, individuality, and Caribbean lightness – whether for beginners or returnees.
Bahamas
The Bahamas are much more than a beach destination – they are a world of over 700 islands, coral reefs, sandbanks, and turquoise waters. Those who travel off the classic cruise routes discover quiet corners, luxurious retreats, and a fascinating underwater world. Great Exuma with the famous Pig Beach, Harbour Island with its pink sandy beach, or private island resorts like those on Andros Island – here, you can experience the Caribbean in an individual and exclusive way. Ideal for couples, families, or sailors who value clear structure, high-quality accommodations, and absolute tranquility.
Cuba
Cuba is unique – culturally, emotionally, historically. Those who travel to Cuba immerse themselves in a world full of contrasts: vintage cars in the streets of Havana, Caribbean rhythm under arcades, colonial architecture next to improvised living art. But Cuba can also be quiet – with secluded coves, stylish casas, and vast landscapes. Ideal for travelers seeking the original while not wanting to forgo comfort. Particularly exciting: private tours with a guide, combined with a stylish beach stay. Cuba is not a classic luxury destination – but one that touches the heart.
