Good to Know about Palau

Diving & Snorkeling in Palau

Palau is considered one of the best diving destinations in the world – and rightly so. Between steep walls, caves, wrecks, and channels, you will experience a diversity of species that very few places offer. Legendary spots like Blue Corner, German Channel, or Ulong Channel are on the bucket list of experienced divers worldwide.

However, snorkelers will also get their money's worth: In crystal-clear water, you glide over colorful coral reefs, encounter turtles, clownfish, and sometimes even eagle rays. Particularly fascinating: a visit to Jellyfish Lake, where you can snorkel with harmless jellyfish – an experience that is unique to this place.

Getting there & entry to Palau

Traveling to Palau goes through major Asian hubs – such as Taipei, Seoul, or Manila. Many of our guests combine Palau with a stopover in Japan, the Philippines, or Taiwan. The flight time from Frankfurt is approximately 20 to 24 hours, depending on the connection.

For German citizens, entry is straightforward: visa-free for up to 90 days. Important to know: Upon entry, all guests sign the so-called Palau Pledge – a personal promise to protect the environment. Certain sunscreens are also banned to protect the fragile marine ecosystem.

We are happy to advise you on the best flight connections, stopover options, and anything that ensures a relaxed arrival.

Island hopping & private experiences

Palau's island world is a labyrinth of turquoise lagoons, lush rocky islands, and lonely sandy beaches. While island hopping, you’ll discover secluded bays, enjoy picnics on sandbars, or paddle through mirror-like lagoons in a kayak.

Private boat trips at sunset or multi-day dive cruises to remote reefs are particularly popular. Whether reduced, luxurious, or nature-oriented – we design your journey through Palau to suit you.

Palau as a stopover or extension

Palau is an excellent choice as a stopover or extension – especially if you are already traveling to Asia or Australia. Whether as a South Sea finale after a trip to Japan, as a diving extension in the Philippines, or as a conscious contrast after a safari: Palau fits if you are looking for the extraordinary.

Many of our guests choose to stay in Palau for four to seven nights – focusing on nature, water, tranquility, and slowing down.

Galápagos or Palau? Or both?

Palau and the Galápagos Islands are both considered natural paradises – and yet they couldn't be more different. Palau delights with tropical diversity, vibrant coral reefs, and South Sea flair. Galápagos, on the other hand, fascinates with its endemic wildlife, volcanic landscapes, and the feeling of walking in Darwin's footsteps.

Palau is ideal for diving enthusiasts, snorkelers, and those seeking peace who appreciate exclusivity and warm water. Galápagos is particularly suitable for nature lovers who want to go on an expedition cruise with experienced guides.

Can't decide? Perhaps you don't have to. We are happy to advise you on which destination or combination suits you best.

Neles journey through Vietnam

My trip to Vietnam was not just a succession of beautiful places, but a mix of impressions, moods, and moments that were very different. Loud, quiet, chaotic, calm, intense, and at the same time incredibly harmonious. And perhaps it was exactly this diversity that made it so special. A large part of the journey was also the hotels themselves for me. Not just as accommodation, but as places that have shaped and made each region experienceable in their own way. Some were retreats in the middle of nature, others almost little destinations in themselves....

Why do I keep returning to Greece?

2 min read

My friends often ask me: "Why do you return to Greece?" Is it because you grew up there? Because of the food, the culture, or the beaches? The truth is: Yes — because of all that. But to be honest, the reason is a bit deeper. It’s the feeling I have there. A warm feeling that invites you to stay, that makes every moment special and every encounter familiar. In Greece, I feel welcome everywhere. In the smiles of the people, in the small everyday moments, in the spontaneous conversation with a stranger. It’s this simplicity and human closeness that makes the difference....
