Whether it’s a beach holiday, sightseeing, shopping tours, or desert adventures – boredom is guaranteed not to be part of your experience here.
Seven Emirates – The Dilemma of Choice
The capital Abu Dhabi and the largest city, Dubai, are probably the most famous and popular regions in the United Arab Emirates. The two metropolises break astonishing records and regularly surpass each other in terms of Higher, Faster, Further. If you're interested in extraordinary architecture, exquisite hotels, and luxurious mega shopping centers, you're definitely in the right place. For relaxation from city life, attractive sandy beaches and water sports opportunities await right on your doorstep. However, the other emirates of Ajman, Fujairah, Sharjah, Umm Al Quwain, and Ras Al Khaimah are also worth a visit. While it’s a bit quieter and more tradition-oriented here, you can immerse yourself in the country’s culture and enjoy unique natural experiences.

General Information about the United Arab Emirates
We have compiled the most interesting information for your desired travel destination.
Dubai - Metropolis of Superlatives
The capital of the eponymous emirate, Dubai, is the largest city in the UAE. The international mega-metropolis delights its visitors with a diverse mix of futuristic skyscrapers and massive shopping malls, as well as traditional charm in the historic heart of the city. Years of construction boom have not only given Dubai the highest number of skyscrapers in the world over 300 meters tall, but also the tallest building in the world: The Burj Khalifa at 828 meters high. Extraordinary luxury awaits you at every corner: exquisite restaurants, spectacular hotels, countless shopping opportunities, and cultural offerings. If you crave relaxation amidst all the hustle and bustle of the city, you will find it on Dubai's dreamlike beaches. The backdrop of blinding sun over turquoise sparkling sea makes Dubai a paradise for beachgoers.
Abu Dhabi - The Queen of the Emirates
The capital of the United Arab Emirates is in no way inferior to its larger sister Dubai: A spectacular attraction surpasses the next. As one of the most modern cities in the world, striking skyscrapers and magnificent luxury buildings shape the cityscape. However, the Arab tradition is also preserved. Nestled between modern hotels, shopping malls, and high-class golf courses, Abu Dhabi impresses with the gigantic Sheikh Zayed Mosque and magnificent palaces. Throughout the year, the emirate is a paradise for sun worshipers, attracting visitors with a variety of idyllic beaches. In this desert state, you should also not miss out on a little dune adventure. Whether on a thrilling off-road ride or a romantic camel ride – the endless expanses of this landscape are at least as impressive as Abu Dhabi's sparkling skyline.
Ajman - The Smallest of the Seven United Arab Emirates
Even in this emirate, the skyscrapers stretch towards the ever-sunny sky. Yet in Ajman, one can feel a sense of tradition: fishermen head out every evening from the small creek into the Persian Gulf and bring their catch to market in the morning. In the northern part of the emirate, there is a typical marsh and mangrove landscape that also shapes the untouched landscapes of the other emirates. And right here, between the mangroves, an excellent 18-hole golf course, and the beautiful natural sandy beach, you’ll find a unique resort: The Oberoi Al Zorah, Ajman.
Fujairah - Desert Magic in the Land of the Bedouins
Have you always dreamed of a desert safari? From the wobbly camel ride to romantic desert camps with BBQ, sandboarding, and dune driving in a Jeep, you can expect all kinds of adventures: In Fujairah, an exciting, unfamiliar world awaits discovery. If you prefer to hike rather than being rocked on a camel's back, you'll love the Wadi Wurayah National Park. After a walk through rugged rocky landscapes, you arrive at a very special sensation: In the midst of the dust-dry desert area, a gigantic waterfall rushes towards you. Additionally, a visit to the capital Al-Fujairah is highly worthwhile: ultramodern buildings, beautiful sculptures, and fountains contrast with historically interesting ruins, particularly the fortress, a restored stronghold from the 17th century. Moreover, the youngest of the emirates boasts countless beaches that not only invite you to relax in the sun but also provide access to globally popular dive sites.
Ras al Khaimah - Mountainous Northern Tip of the United Arab Emirates
Just an hour's drive from Dubai Airport lies this very special emirate, Ras al Khaimah. First, two superlatives of a different kind beckon: 64 kilometers of natural sandy beaches and a mountain range with peaks reaching nearly 2000 meters in height. Ras al Khaimah seems to specialize in modern natural experiences. From the summit massif of the highest mountain in the emirates, Jebel Sais (1934 meters above sea level), you can take the currently longest zip line in the world, measuring over 1600 meters high, down to the valley station at 400 meters. Here, speeds of over 120 km/h are achieved. With slightly less adrenaline, guests can enjoy the via ferrata, which can be climbed with a harness and mountain guide.
Climate and Best Travel Time
The United Arab Emirates is a desert state with predominantly subtropical climate. In the summer months from May to October, it can become extremely hot, with peak temperatures reaching up to 50 degrees. Outside of air-conditioned buildings, it is difficult for most Central Europeans to endure during this time. In the winter months from November to April, temperatures cool down to an average of 25 degrees. In January, the average temperatures are around 18 degrees. With eight to ten hours of sunshine a day and little to no rain, sun worshippers will be fully satisfied even in the winter months.
