When is the best travel time for a beach vacation?

That completely depends on where you want to go. While the months of June to September are ideal for a beach vacation in Southern Europe – such as on the Amalfi Coast or the Algarve – the best travel time for tropical island destinations often only begins when winter sets in here.

For the Maldives, Seychelles, or Zanzibar, the months of December to March are particularly recommended, while Mauritius offers a pleasant climate with little rain from May to October. In Asia, the best bathing season in Thailand or the Philippines usually starts in November.

Beach vacation with children – what should you consider?

A successful beach vacation with children means: plenty of space to play, gently sloping beaches, short distances, and accommodation that truly welcomes families. Particularly suitable are regions with calm seas and pleasant temperatures, for example, in Europe, the Mediterranean coast around Sardinia, Crete, and the Balearic Islands.

In faraway places like the Seychelles or Mauritius, family-friendly beaches and short transfer times score points. It is also important that the accommodation is family-friendly – with spacious rooms, pool areas, and flexible meal times.
