Itinerary
Welcome to Costa Rica
Upon your arrival at the airport in San José, you will receive a private transfer to your first accommodation. Rest from your long journey so you are fit for your upcoming Costa Rica adventure.
Enjoy your first evening with a tropical welcome drink, soak in the atmosphere of the city, and relax as you prepare for the coming days filled with nature, adventure, and joy of life.
The Arenal Volcano Region
Today you will continue to the impressive Arenal region. You will stay in a luxurious lodge with breathtaking views of the volcano. Take a hike at the foot of the volcano to a cooled lava tongue and explore the Arenal National Park with all its facets.
In the immediate vicinity of the volcano, there is little vegetation left, but in other areas of the national park, you can still find some primary forest of the Cordillera Tilarán, which are hardly accessible. Look forward to dense rainforests, pine and eucalyptus plantations, waterfalls, and rivers.
Private Transfer to Monteverde
You will spend the next two nights in the breathtaking Monteverde region. Monteverde is located at an altitude between 1400 and 1700 meters and is characterized by enormous biodiversity and unique vegetation. Look forward to 400 different bird species, 490 butterfly species, and 100 different mammal species, some of which are endangered.
You will participate in one of the most beautiful zipline canopy tours in the country and dive deep into the cloud forest. Additionally, you will hike across numerous suspension bridges in the private Selvatura Nature Reserve.
The Dreamy Pacific Coast
Today, you will say goodbye to the interior of the country and travel to the Pacific coast in the northwest of Costa Rica, in the Guanacaste region. This region is particularly known for its breathtaking natural beauty, which ranges from tropical dry forest to mountain rainforests.
You will spend the next three nights on the charming Papagayo Peninsula - picturesque beaches, turquoise water, calm bays, and dense vegetation await you. Water sports enthusiasts will especially enjoy this place - the sea invites you to dive, snorkel, fish, sail, and kayak. Between December and March, you might be lucky enough to observe humpback whales nursing their young near the coast.
Continuing to Manuel Antonio
Today, you will head west from the inland to the Pacific coast of Costa Rica. You will spend the next four nights in a beautiful little town called Manuel Antonio. In addition to charming cafés and restaurants, you will find the namesake national park with fascinating palm forests right by the Pacific.
Explore beautiful nature on a guided hike through the national park and learn about the numerous plants as well as the over 100 different mammals, such as coatis and sloths, that live here. You can then wind down your evening in one of the lovely restaurants in Manuel Antonio with a view of the Pacific.
The Osa Peninsula
Today, you will set off for your last stop on your tour through Costa Rica. An absolute paradise awaits you on the wild Osa Peninsula. A vast variety of birds, amphibians, and mammals await you in the Corcovado National Park. The entire peninsula is dedicated to conservation and the protection of this area, so you can look forward to almost untouched nature.
There are numerous activities available to you here - hikes to secluded waterfalls, bird watching, plant a tree, or participate in a night hike - you decide how you want to structure your days.
Journey Home
Today it's time to say goodbye to Costa Rica. You will be driven back to San José in about three hours, from where you will embark on your return journey. Along the way, you will once again be accompanied by the impressive landscapes – lush rainforests, mist-covered mountains, and wide valleys.
Perhaps you will reflect on the experiences of the past days: encounters with exotic animals, the sound of the waves, the green of the tropics. Costa Rica bids you farewell – with the promise that you are always welcome back.
