Itinerary
A City Reimagined
Once known for its troubled past, Medellín today is a vibrant, creative hub with a powerful sense of renewal. Explore a local fruit market with women who share not only flavors, but the stories behind them. Then head into Moravia, a former landfill turned community-driven art district. Walk alongside a local graffiti artist who brings the walls to life with tales of transformation and hope. Back in the leafy El Poblado district, cafés and restaurants set the scene for a relaxed evening in the city.
Whales, waterfalls & hot springs
Colombia’s Pacific coastline feels like a hidden world. From the jungle-lined shores of Nuquí, set out by boat in search of humpback whales, often spotted here between July and October. One of the most magical moments: gliding down the Rio Jovi in a hand-carved wooden canoe, shaded by overhanging trees and alive with bird calls. Hike to rainforest waterfalls, soak in natural thermal springs, and visit remote Afro-Colombian villages where life moves to its own rhythm.
Stopover – One Night Back in the City
Stopover – After your days in the wild, return briefly to Medellín. This stopover offers a comfortable pause and a chance to enjoy the city’s energy before your next adventure begins – deep in the Amazon.
Rainforest Encounters & River Life
A short flight takes you to Leticia, the gateway to Colombia’s Amazon. Travel by boat to your eco-lodge in the heart of the rainforest, where the sounds of frogs, monkeys and night birds become your new soundtrack. Guided walks, canoe rides, night hikes and encounters with indigenous communities reveal the forest from many angles. You might spot pink river dolphins, explore local craft traditions, or set out early for birdwatching as the jungle awakens. Each day brings a new kind of wonder.
Nature, Culture & Sacred Mountains
Fly north to the Caribbean coast, where rainforest-covered hills meet golden beaches. In Tayrona National Park, follow jungle trails to hidden bays with turquoise water. Venture inland to the archaeological site of Bankuany, once part of the ancient Tayrona civilization. Four indigenous groups still call this region home – their stories and traditions echo in the forest. Along the way, cool off in rivers and waterfalls and soak in the atmosphere of one of Colombia’s most sacred landscapes.
History, Flavor & Caribbean Color
End your journey in Cartagena, where colonial history meets tropical energy. Wander the cobbled streets of the old town, sample local dishes on a guided food tour, and visit the bustling Bazurto market – raw, real and full of life. Visit the Spanish fortress of San Felipe, then watch the sunset from the city walls. If you’d like to stay longer, a short boat ride takes you to the island of Barú – ideal for a few relaxing days at the beach, perhaps at the elegant Sofitel Barú.
