Arrival in Bogotá

Welcome to Bogotá/Colombia!

Upon arrival at El Dorado Airport, one of our staff members will already be waiting for you and will take you to your hotel. The Sofitel Bogotá Victoria Regia is located in one of the capital's most popular neighborhoods and offers its guests the perfect feel-good place for a stay in the heart of the city. After checking into the hotel, the rest of the day is at your leisure.

Exploring Bogotá

The morning begins with a tour in the vibrant district of La Candelaria, which, among other things, houses Bogotá's central square – Plaza de Bolívar. You will also see buildings in both colonial and republican styles, as well as colorful painted house walls. A visit to the famous Gold Museum and the Botero Museum is a must. Afterwards, you will take the cable car up to Monserrate, from where you have a breathtaking panoramic view over the city surrounded by mountains. You will be accompanied by a German-speaking tour guide.

In coffee paradise

With a private transfer, you will be taken to El Dorado Airport and continue your journey to Pereira in the famous Coffee Triangle, the heart of Colombian coffee production. From the airport, you will be brought directly to your luxurious camping accommodation, which is set in the breathtaking green backdrop of the Andes mountain range.

Between wax palms and hummingbirds

In Salento, you will board a typical Willy Jeep and drive on to the Cocora Valley, known for its unique wax palms. Thousands of hummingbirds make their home here. Depending on your preference, you can choose a 4- or 6-hour hike. A German-speaking tour guide will accompany you. In the afternoon, if you wish, you can plant your own palm tree.

Soaring high in a hot air balloon

At 5:00 AM, you will go to the meeting point in Montenegro, from where you will start your ride in a hot air balloon over the coffee region. The flight lasts about 40 minutes, during which you will enjoy an priceless view. After landing, your transfer will take you by land to your accommodation for the night – the colonial coffee farm Hacienda Venezia, where you will spend the night.

Traditional coffee tour

At the coffee farm, you will gain insight into traditional coffee production and have the opportunity to taste the delicious and fresh coffee on-site. The tour is led by an English-speaking guide. Afterwards, you will be taken to Medellín. This city is affectionately called 'la Ciudad de la eterna primavera', which means 'The City of Eternal Spring'. This designation is due to the pleasantly mild climate that prevails almost year-round in the mountainous region.

Medellín

Get to know the history of Medellín and experience firsthand how the city has transformed from one of the most dangerous cities in the world to one of the most innovative. On this 4-hour city tour 'History of Transformation', you will ride the 'Metro de Medellín', the only elevated train in Colombia, which is presented with great pride. Additionally, you will gain authentic insight into the neighborhood 'Comuna 13', which is particularly known for its impressive graffiti and the stories behind it. You will be accompanied by a German-speaking tour guide.
(Optional: For dinner, you will be taken from the airport to the restaurant Marmoleo by helicopter. During the flight, you can enjoy Medellín from a bird's-eye view. After dinner, you will be taken back to your hotel by taxi)

Colorful Guatapé

The next day, you will take a day trip to the colorful village of Guatapé. There, you will climb the Piedra de Peñol, a 200-meter-high monolith with its 740 steps. During a boat trip, you will have time to lean back and take in the overwhelming nature. A traditional meal will provide the necessary boost at noon. A German-speaking guide will accompany you during the trip.

Pearl of the Caribbean

The next morning, you will be taken to the airport in Medellín and fly to Cartagena – the Pearl of the Caribbean. There, you will be picked up from the airport and taken to your hotel in the historic old town. In the evening, we have reserved a horse-drawn carriage for you (max. 4 people), where you will get a first impression of the old colonial city.

Set sail in the Caribbean Sea

Enjoy a day on the Caribbean Sea aboard a sailboat off the coast of Cartagena. At noon, a private island in the Rosario Islands will be reached, where you can disembark and enjoy your lunch in one of the hotels. The captain and first mate will be at your disposal all day. The boat is a Beneteau 411 with a capacity for 8 people, other sailboats can also be provided upon request.

Beach time

A boat ride of about 45 minutes takes you to the last destination of your tour: Isla Barú and Playa Blanca. From the port in Cartagena, we will take you by boat directly to Hotel Las Islas, where you can relax in the Caribbean sun.

You can spend today as you wish. The beach is perfect for relaxing and the cool water provides a refreshing break.

Adiós Amigos

The time has come for departure. You will be picked up from your hotel by boat and taken to Cartagena. From there, you will head to the airport for your flight to Bogotá, from where you will begin your journey home.
