You continue over the scenic Dochu La Pass to Punakha, known for its majestic dzong at the confluence of two rivers. The crowning finale awaits you in Paro - with a hike to the iconic Tiger's Nest Monastery, perched high above the valley on a steep rock face.

01 Thimphu

First encounters with the kingdom

Even the journey there is an experience: your flight takes you along snow-capped Himalayan peaks before you soar spectacularly between the mountain slopes of Bhutan. After landing in Paro, your private guide welcomes you and accompanies you on to Thimphu. First impressions: Mountains, monasteries, colorful prayer flags. In the afternoon, the golden Buddha Dordenma statue awaits you with a view over the valley.
The next day belongs to Thimphu: modern cafés, small temples and craft markets. Particularly moving: a visit to the Memorial Chorten, one of the spiritual centerpieces of the capital.

02 Punakha

A valley between temples and tropical green

On the way to the Punakha Valley, you cross the Dochu La Pass - in good weather with views of the Himalayan peaks. On the way, you will visit the Chimi Lhakhang, Bhutan's fertility temple, before reaching the imposing Punakha Dzong - one of the country's most beautiful monastery fortresses - in the afternoon.
During your two nights on site, you will have time to explore the valley at your leisure: on easy hikes along the river, visits to small temples or an insight into rural life. Punakha combines culture, nature and relaxation in a very special way.

03 Paro

Tiger's Nest – Spiritual highlights in the Himalayas

Paro is the gateway to Bhutan - and also the ideal end to your trip. You will spend three nights here, with time for culture, nature and mindfulness. Visit small monasteries, markets or the national museum in the old watchtower above the valley.
The highlight is the hike to the legendary Tiger's Nest Monastery, which clings spectacularly to a rock face - around 900 meters above the valley floor. The ascent with your guide takes around five hours. Along the way, new views of the valley open up again and again, accompanied by prayer flags in the wind. For many Bhutanese, it is a place they visit once in a lifetime - and for travelers, it is a moment that stays with them.

Farewell to the land of the thunder dragon

After breakfast, it's time to say goodbye. Your guide will take you to the airport in Paro in good time. The return flight takes you once again along the Himalayan peaks - with the feeling that you have got to know a country that will remain in your memory: silent, spiritual and deeply moving.
