Island Hopping in the Maldives

Two COMO islands made for honeymoons, privacy and time together

Two COMO islands made for honeymoons, privacy and time together

This journey takes you to two exceptional COMO resorts in the Maldives. It’s the ideal choice for a honeymoon or a romantic getaway for two. You’ll begin at COMO Maalifushi in the remote Thaa Atoll, known for its raw beauty and expansive lagoon. After five nights, you’ll continue to COMO Cocoa Island in the South Malé Atoll, where sleek design, calm waters and intimate surroundings define each day.

Both islands offer understated luxury, natural rhythm and space for moments that feel entirely your own. Whether you’re snorkelling over coral gardens, enjoying a private dinner on the beach or simply watching the water from your overwater villa – this is a Maldives honeymoon designed for pause, presence and connection.

Perfect for couples who value thoughtful design, authenticity and a quiet sense of exclusivity.

A romantic beach scene at sunset with a canopy bed surrounded by lanterns, and a couple walking along the shore.
A woman with sunglasses in a black dress sitting beside an infinity pool with a floating breakfast tray overlooking the ocean at sunset.
A sea turtle close to the ocean floor swimming over coral in clear tropical waters.
A romantic dinner setup on a beach at sunset with three people, candles on the sand, and a makeshift shelter made of wooden sticks.
A person paddling on a stand-up paddleboard in clear turquoise water near a tropical beach with palm trees.
A person standing on a beach holding a surfboard, facing the ocean with a cloudy sky.
Two spa therapists give massages to clients lying face down on massage tables outdoors by the water with a bamboo fence in the background.

Active experiences in the south of the Maldives

You’ll fly by seaplane to the far south of the Maldives. Here, the Thaa Atoll offers an untouched marine environment, wide turquoise lagoons and rare wildlife encounters. This is one of the Maldives’ best regions for snorkelling and diving – with manta rays, vibrant coral gardens and the possibility of spotting whale sharks.

For the more adventurous, there are surf trips to uncrowded reef breaks or guided night snorkelling sessions where jackfish dart through the dark in sharp contrast to their daytime stillness. A private sandbank picnic, yoga sessions or barefoot walks along the shore round out your days.

Relaxation and togetherness above the water

Your second island is smaller, quieter and entirely overwater. With just 33 villas, Cocoa Island is one of the most intimate resorts in the country. It’s designed for couples seeking privacy and quiet luxury, with everything centred around simplicity and space.

Spend your days exactly how you like – sunbathing on the beach, snorkelling the house reef or unwinding at the Shambhala wellness retreat. Yoga, spa rituals and healthy, flavourful cuisine set the tone. This is a place for slowing down, for presence, and for shared time that doesn’t need much else.
