The Völkers House
Between Campos and Santanyí, where the southeast of Mallorca is still characterized by dry stone walls, olive groves, and wide fields, Christian and Ninon Völkers have created their private estate. On 28 hectares of Mediterranean landscape stand four houses by Pritzker Prize winner Richard Meier – clear, bright lines that meet here with Mallorcan natural stone, wood, and rattan. Culinary
The estate's kitchen is based on what the island has to offer: vegetables from local farmers, fish from local fishermen, products from small manufacturers. Cooking is preferably done over an open fire, with Mallorcan roots and a fine Latin American touch. Some dishes are completed in the kitchen, while others unfold as long Asados under the olive trees, where the evening seems to have no end. At the bar, classic cocktails stand alongside signature drinks inspired by the place and people.
Activities
Luxury at The Völkers House mainly means shaping the days actively. On the property, rides through the olive groves take place, One Wheel Polo is played on the polo field, and local artisans provide insights into their craft in masterclasses. Beyond the estate, the whole island opens up: underground lakes, private wine tastings at Mallorcan wineries, or a day on the yacht along the coast. Thanks to a well-established local network, individual wishes are also personally implemented. For quieter hours, the spa, curated by Celia Forner Venturi, the founder of the skincare brand ALLEVEN, provides relaxation.
Rooms
The fifteen suites are spread across four houses and resemble a private home more than a hotel room. Floor-to-ceiling glass fronts frame the landscape, and the gardens designed by Breimann & Cie and Wirtz International extend to the terraces. The Pool Suites are located at the outer wings of the houses, with their own pool and around 130 square meters of space, while the quieter Garden Suites face east towards the polo field. The centerpiece is the only Polo Master Suite with approximately 300 square meters, private pool, and dressing room, which can also be booked as a three-room private villa. For families and groups of friends, the Courtyard Collection with four suites around shared patios can also be exclusively booked.
Location
The Völkers House is located in the rural southeast of Mallorca between Campos and Santanyí, on a quiet country road that is easily overlooked. It takes only about 30 minutes to drive from Palma de Mallorca Airport, yet one feels pleasantly far from the hustle and bustle of the island. The natural beach Es Trenc with its light sand and shallow, clear water can be reached in about 20 minutes. The town of Santanyí with its natural stone facades, markets, galleries, and cafés is about a quarter of an hour away, and those looking for harbor atmosphere in the evening drive another ten minutes to Cala d’Or.
