Uga Jungle Beach
On the east coast of Sri Lanka, the landscape is noticeably changing: dense coastal forests reach up to the beach, the sea appears broader and calmer. Uga Jungle Beach is located exactly between this tropical vegetation and a long bay near Trincomalee, almost hidden in the green of the trees. It is this direct connection between jungle and natural beach that makes the resort's location so special, as wildlife, tranquility, and the sea come together here in a very natural way. Wooden paths lead through the small jungle to the beach, while the individual villas consciously blend into the nature. Especially in the mornings, when warm air flows through the open areas and hardly anything is heard except for bird calls, a particularly peaceful atmosphere arises. At the same time, the region remains exciting as it still shows a very primitive side of Sri Lanka that many travelers do not expect.

Culinary
Culinary-wise, Uga Jungle Beach focuses on fresh ingredients from the east coast and the relaxed atmosphere right by the sea. In the main restaurant The Tree House, Sri Lankan specialties, seafood, and international dishes are served, often with regional spices and freshly caught fish from Trincomalee. Many guests spend the evening on the open terrace overlooking the jungle or on the beach under the open sky. The offer is complemented by private beach dinners as well as light dishes and cocktails at the Jungle Beach Bar. The kitchen is overall consciously uncomplicated and fits well with the resort's natural surroundings.
Activities
The region around Trincomalee is among the most exciting natural areas in Sri Lanka, especially for travelers who want to combine beach and wildlife. Take whale and dolphin watching tours off the coast, snorkel around Pigeon Island, or visit the nearby Koneswaram Temple above the cliffs of Trincomalee. At the same time, the resort borders a small forest area, which means regular sightings of birds, monkeys, or monitor lizards on the hotel grounds. Kayaking tours, bicycle excursions, and quiet hours on the long natural beach are just as much a part of the stay as spa treatments in the tropical green.
Villas
Uga Jungle Beach features 48 villas that are generously distributed between the beach and the jungle. The Jungle Cabins are sheltered in the tropical greenery and combine dark wood, natural materials, and open living areas with a pleasantly tranquil atmosphere. The Beach Villas are located closer to the sea and offer direct access to the beach as well as private small pools or terrace areas. The units are designed to be consciously understated, so that nature remains clearly the focus. Despite the natural style, there is no lack of comfort or privacy.
Location
Uga Jungle Beach is located on the northeast coast of Sri Lanka near Trincomalee, directly between coastal forest and beach. The region is considered significantly quieter and more primitive than the more touristically developed southwest coasts of the island. The resort can be reached from Colombo by domestic flight or in about six to seven hours by car. Alternatively, the region is a great option after a stay in the highlands, such as from Hatton or Ella.
