The Aiyana

Just 30 minutes by plane from Zanzibar lies the evergreen island of Pemba, which is one third the size of its neighbor. Each villa has a spacious terrace, the rooms are very bright and modern but equipped with an African touch. You feel very comfortable from the very first moment and can enjoy the tranquility and the fabulous atmosphere of the surrounding bay due to its special location.

The Aiyana Resort daily utilizes the island’s variety of fruits and vegetables and sources all products locally from the markets nearby. Fish is caught every morning for the hotel guests. The main restaurant focuses on modern interpretations of regional African dishes. Guests can dine wherever they find it most beautiful: in the restaurant, on the beach, or upon request in the gardens of their own villa.

The in-house “Maji Spa” offers massages with regional products and yoga. Kayaks and mountain bikes are available for all guests for excursions, and those who wish can join the team on the morning fishing trip. One should definitely explore the nearby coral reef and its underwater world on a snorkeling trip or dive.

Location

The Aiyana Resort is located in the northwest of Pemba Island, about 50km south of Zanzibar and is approximately 30 minutes away by plane. The hotel can be reached after a drive through the Ngezi rainforest, which is particularly known for its bird diversity and red colobus monkeys.
