Four Seasons Resort Mallorca at Formentor

Nestled between pine forests, steep cliffs, and one of the quietest bays of Mallorca in the north of the island lies the newly opened Four Seasons Resort Mallorca at Formentor. Instead of the classic Mallorca feeling with beach clubs and promenades, the landscape takes center stage here: turquoise water, narrow coastal roads, and views that feel almost surreal, especially in the early morning hours. The resort blends the historical character of the former Formentor Hotel with modern, bright design featuring the unmistakable Four Seasons signature and a lot of openness to nature. This address is particularly interesting for guests who want to experience Mallorca from a quieter and more picturesque side – with a special focus on culinary delights, first-class service, and private coves.

Culinary

The resort's restaurants reflect the location between the Mediterranean and the Mallorcan landscape. At Mel, Mediterranean dishes are served using regional ingredients – from fresh fish to Mallorcan-inspired vegetable and rice dishes. Quiosc offers a relaxed atmosphere right by the water with light cuisine and uncomplicated lunches. Shima, on the other hand, focuses on modern Nikkei cuisine that combines Japanese techniques with Peruvian influences. The offering is complemented by bars and terrace areas that quickly become a meeting point, especially at sunset.

Activities

The location around Formentor is ideal for active days outside the resort. Directly from the hotel, hikes and bike tours can be undertaken along the coastal roads and viewpoints of the peninsula. Boat trips along Mallorca's north coast reveal secluded bays and small beaches that are often only accessible by water. The long sandy beach right in front of the resort is considered one of the most beautiful on the island and is well-suited for swimming, stand-up paddling, or relaxing hours away from larger beach sections.

Rooms

The intimate resort belonging to the Four Seasons chain has only 110 rooms and suites, intentionally designed to be bright and understated. Natural materials, sand-colored fabrics, and large windows bring the surrounding landscape visually into the rooms. Many categories offer private terraces overlooking the sea or the pine forests of the peninsula. The suites appear more spacious and are particularly suitable for longer stays, some with separate living areas and expansive outdoor spaces. Despite the modernization, the character of the historic house is preserved in many details.

Location

The Four Seasons Resort Mallorca at Formentor is secluded on the Formentor Peninsula in the north of Mallorca. Depending on traffic, it takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes from Palma de Mallorca Airport along the coast and through the mountainous landscapes of the Serra de Tramuntana. The nearest towns are Port de Pollença and Pollença, both of which can be reached in around 20 to 30 minutes and delight with small restaurants, markets, and galleries. Due to its tranquil location, the resort feels significantly more private than many hotels in the south or west of the island.
