Amidst shade-giving trees lie the so-called Bandas. Constructed from natural materials such as wood, palm fronds, and straw, these open-design bungalows intensify the nature experience. Visually, the interiors of the Bandas are held in natural tones and white. Antique furniture, four-poster beds, and stone elements in the bath area exude a cozy charm. Through the windowless openings, a gentle ocean breeze enters the interiors, pleasantly replacing air conditioning in conjunction with the ceiling fan. Mosquito nets protect against unwelcome insects during the night. A spacious veranda invites relaxation with a view of the sea. Close to the beach, private relaxation cabanas with comfortable seating, a mini-bar, and outdoor shower are available. A sun lounger with a bamboo sunshade completes this intimate feel-good area.
Culinary
Whether with or without wake-up service, the day begins with fresh coffee and provided cookies. Main meals are served in the dining area (also available in the bungalow upon request). Guests can expect a changing selection of specialties alongside fresh fruit, yogurt, and cereals each morning, as well as rustic egg dishes. Homemade juices round off the breakfast offerings. Location
The Mnemba Island Lodge is located in the middle of the Indian Ocean off Tanzania. The journey by 4x4 from Zanzibar's airport to the beach of Kigomani takes one and a half hours. From there, only three kilometers separate you from the world’s most beautiful island, accessible by speedboat. Once arrived, one is overwhelmed by a picturesque backdrop: dense jungle, snowy white sand, and turquoise blue water all around—with hardly a soul in sight. The maximum number of twenty-four guests and the widely spaced accommodations ensure the utmost privacy. Most encounters are limited to small crabs, geckos, herons, and seabirds.
