Waldorf Astoria Seychelles Platte Island

Set far away from the hustle and bustle of the main islands lies a flat coral island, which rises almost imperceptibly from the Indian Ocean. At Waldorf Astoria Seychelles Platte Island, this seclusion is at the heart of the concept and shapes every stay. The island is surrounded by an almost untouched reef and feels expansive and tranquil due to its open landscape. The architecture and design draw on natural materials and consciously remain understated to avoid dominating the surroundings. Paths weave through palm groves and along the beach, connecting short distances with a sense of openness. The resort is particularly suitable for travelers seeking tranquility and valuing privacy in a nature-influenced environment.

Villas

The island has a total of only 50 beach villas, each starting at around 200 square meters and featuring a private pool as well as direct access to the beach. Their orientation follows the coastline, allowing for both sunrises and sunsets to be experienced depending on their location. The design focuses on bright natural tones, clear lines, and handcrafted details made from local materials. Large window areas open the rooms to the outdoors and enhance the feeling of openness. Each unit is positioned to ensure privacy without isolation.

Culinary

The culinary offerings are spread across several restaurants, each providing different perspectives on the island. Fresh ingredients from sustainable sources and fish from the surrounding waters form the basis of many dishes. The cuisine combines international influences with Creole accents and emphasizes clear flavors. Dining can be arranged flexibly, for example, right on the beach or in the private surroundings of the villa. Each location follows its own concept yet remains consistent in style and quality.

Location

The island is located about 130 kilometers south of Mahé and can only be reached by domestic flight. The transfer takes about 20 minutes by a small plane directly to the island's private airstrip. This connection keeps the journey efficient, even though the location has been deliberately chosen to be remote. There are no other resorts or settlements on-site, which further enhances the tranquility. At the same time, the infrastructure ensures a comfortable stay despite the isolated position.
