My passion for traveling has accompanied me for many years – and with each trip, it continues to grow. Whether it's the deserts of Oman, the rice fields of Vietnam, the jungle of Costa Rica, or the wildlife of Ecuador: I know these and many other countries from personal travels and can therefore advise you firsthand. If you feel like discovering the world in your own unique way, I am happy to assist you with advice and action. I look forward to hearing from you.

Traveling is pure joy of life for me – with every single trip, I collect memories for a lifetime. Just the anticipation of discovering new places around the world is indescribable. And every place I've seen so far is unique in its own way.

On my bucket list

Antarctica and Patagonia

At the top of my wish list is Antarctica – for me, a once-in-a-lifetime experience on an expedition cruise. The backdrop of icebergs and glaciers, plus observing whales and penguins: I imagine it to be absolutely magical. And right after that comes Patagonia – from the spectacular hiking trails in Torres del Paine National Park to the massive glaciers of the region and the wild landscapes around El Chaltén, which I would love to explore on horseback.

Next trip

Scotland

My next trip takes me to Scotland: three weeks by car through the Highlands, to the Isle of Skye and the Isle of Harris. I'm already looking forward to exploring the rugged landscapes at my own pace – and of course to the Highland cows.

About Nele – How traveling conquered my heart

It all started with my year abroad in Australia. At 18, I traveled alone and far for the first time – and saw for the first time what wonderful places the world has to offer. That was when my travel fever was ignited, and it hasn't let go of me since.

Since then, I am constantly drawn outside: into the silence of the Omani desert, to the glowing lanterns of Hoi An, into the wild jungle of Costa Rica or to the sea lions of the Galápagos Islands. What excites me the most is how different all these places are – and that each one of them offers unforgettable moments in its own way.

Exactly these moments are what make traveling for me: a night under the starry sky of the desert, baby turtles running to the sea, a sunset overlooking the surfers. Memories for a lifetime indeed – and I look forward every time I can help others collect their own.

Places that particularly inspire me

Oman

Oman hasn't let me go since my first trip. The night in the Wahiba Desert is one of my most impressive travel experiences: nothing but sand as far as the eye can see, endless space, and a silence that is hard to find these days. The counterpart to this was an action-packed hike in Wadi Hawer with several jumps from the rocks into the water. Then there are the gigantic views of the gorges at Jabal Akhdar, the impressive Great Mosque, and the souk in Muscat, the dream beaches of Salalah – this country combines so many worlds in a small space that I keep returning.

Vietnam

I experienced Vietnam on a grand tour – from Hanoi over Mai Chau and Halong Bay to Hoi An and the island of Con Dao. Hoi An enchanted me with its historic old town, especially in the evenings when lanterns illuminate everywhere. Mai Chau was completely different from anything I had seen before: calm, surrounded by green rice fields and lush nature. And on Con Dao, I experienced a moment I will never forget – freshly hatched baby turtles running to the sea. The island is also a place where one can truly relax.

Costa Rica

In Costa Rica, I lived for a longer time in Santa Teresa and worked at Nantipa – a hotel that you can also find on our page. I immediately took to the calmness of the people there, and I spent countless evenings on the beach, watching the sunset and the surfers. My greatest adventure was a 20-kilometer hike through the wild jungle of Corcovado National Park. Additionally, there are the Nauyaca waterfalls near Uvita, where I climbed up and jumped down, the hot springs at Arenal – and a sloth just sitting by the roadside in a tree.

Ecuador

Ecuador especially blew me away with its wildlife. In the Galápagos Islands, I swam with sea lions and saw animals that exist only there – simply breathtaking. My second highlight was Cotopaxi: at this altitude, you can really feel how you are almost out of breath – and the gigantic view of the volcano contributes to that. Quito, Cuenca, and the equator also showed me how multifaceted this country is.

Hanoi

I experienced Hanoi best from the back seat of a Vespa – that's the best way to soak in the hustle and bustle of the old town. Plus, the fantastic food at every corner: This city is an experience for all senses.

Tulum

A place that, for me, represents the perfect mix of history, nature, and Caribbean flair. The Mayan ruins directly on the cliffs overlooking the turquoise sea are unique, and there are great restaurants, relaxed beach clubs, and the most beautiful sunrise over the sea one can imagine.

Santa Teresa

My favorite place in Costa Rica and for me the epitome of Pura Vida! The relaxed surfer atmosphere, the dreamy beaches, and spectacular sunsets make Santa Teresa a place I would always return to.
